This is an event run by Set Up events and is part of the qualifying program for USAT’s Half Iron Championship. The goal being to get a qualifying spot for the race in October. Our Athletes keep Rockin’
Posted by: | CommentsOne of the joys of being a coach is getting the follow up emails or phone calls after a race weekend from our athletes. The past 2 weeks have been phenomenal for our group.
More Great Starts
Posted by: | CommentsCongratulations continue to go out to:
Ger Lupini- First overall Female at the Dooby Du(athlon) last weekend in a time of 1:23:48. This was almost a minute faster than last year’s time. She’s on great form for Du Nationals next weekend.
Chad Stearns: Another personal best at the Loons Lake 6k. 9th out of 37 in his AG with an average pace of 7:45/mile. This is quite an improvement considering as he points out “2 years ago I was a 10+minute/mile guy.”
Adrian Fear: Adrian was a client of ours last year in her first year of road cycling. She quickly advanced to the Wolverine Sports Club elite level team and just took two first place finishes at the AAVC Spring Fling (criterium) Series this month. Quite an advancement, considering she was brand new to the sport last year.

Disney, Goofy and Marathon Strategy
Posted by: | Comments2010 started out with Coach Lori and myself heading to Disney to run the half and full marathons. Our training had progressed nicely this fall and with the relatively mild winter we’ve had, almost all the long runs have been done outside. Except for the week leading up to the race, the Coach has spent alot of time in the woods preparing with the long runs. After having run the race, I was disappointed not having signed up for the Goofy Challenge (running both the half and full marathons). For $300+ you get both finishers medals and an additional medal for completing the Goofy. They had over 7000 people run both. Amazing! Read More→
Race Pacing-10K style
Posted by: | CommentsSo, I recently did a 10k down in Sylvania, Ohio for my buddy Todd Crandell of the Racing for Recovery organization. He’s been a friend of mine since I got started in triathlon and one of the few crazies out there that can relate to my personal “insanity.” (All good of course!). One of the things I have found since starting in the sport almost 10 years ago is to try and help out with the non profit’s as much as possible and tie it into a little racing while I’m at it.
